Members and Committee

The Northern Devils PT Cruiser Club is a group of like minded individuals whose main goals are to demonstrate the beauty of the PT Cruiser vehicle, to gather & make merry the world, and to care for each other as we would our own.


The Club is founded on the belief that members have a right to shape the Club’s future.
However, as a growing club, and for practicality reasons, an elected committee will make most decisions. It is, however, the committee’s duty to ensure that each and every member has a voice. Therefore every paid up member is entitled to an equal vote.


The Committee will be formed consisting of the 5 elected Club Officers. Their role is to look after the day to day running of the Club based on the wishes of the membership and to discuss proposals put by any member in a closed forum – Club Matters.


The Committee will have the power to make decisions but any member is entitled to express disagreement in which case the matter will then go to a Full Member vote. Any decisions to be made on matters after consideration by the Committee will take place via a poll with a set time limit. This will generally be a minimum of 1 week, but in an emergency, the Committee may reduce this to a 3 day poll as long as an effort is made to contact all members. A clear 60/40 majority in the total votes cast is required for a decision to be carried. A minimum of 30 votes must be cast for a decision to be valid.


Founder Members


Founder members are the co-creators of this club & contributed to the original fund. As a mark of respect they are titled, but do not hold any rank/position. Founder Members are currently made up of the following members: Alty; Ariel; Baby Inca; ET; Gothic Fantasy; Kreecher; Lestat; Libitina; Mustang; PC; RedRooster; Red Sonja; Reet PTeet; Wigan Warrior.

Club Positions

The following positions will be held in the Club and these members will form the Committee:
Treasurer: HobGob
Merchandiser: Kreecher
Events Organiser:
Membership: Lord Draco
Communications: Gold Gargoyle
All committee posts will last for a maximum 2 year term. Committee members are eligible to stand for re-election at the end of their 2 year term.

Other Positions:
Website Administrator: dynamo gold gargoyle
Kids Space Moderators: Bigbunny; Gothic Fantasy; Angels Whisper.
As technical positions these are filled by people the committee feel have the expertise to maintain the site; they are neither elected posts nor committee members.

Area Reps:

Bigbunny: East Lancs and Cheshire
Calamity: North Lancs and the Lakes 
Metal Piker: Scotland  

 

These positions are voted for via nominations received. They are a local point of contact in each area and there to assist with events in that area. They should work closely with the Events Co-ordinator to ensure local/smaller events don't clash with major club meets. They are not committee members.

 

Club Discipline


Any member who, in the view of the Committee, is seen to bring the Northern Devils Club into disrepute or act in a way contrary to the spirit of the Club, will be liable to disciplinary action which may result in dismissal from the Club and thereby forfeit any remaining subscription. The Committee may immediately suspend that member from the Club while the Committee consider their decision. Please also see Terms of Service.

Annual General Meeting


The Committee will hold 1 annual general meeting, the minutes of which will be published in Club Matters

Membership


Recruitment of new members:
Registered members will have a free trial period of 14 days, during which they will have access to Community Chat, General Chat, Events, Past Events, Just Joined and Spotted forums. Within that trial period they must choose to pay the membership fee or lose access to the forum.
Renewals:
Renewal reminders will be sent out to members one month before renewal is due; this gives members a full 30 days in which to submit their registration. Any renewal not returned within that time will indicate the member no longer wishes to remain a member of the club and will be removed from the database.
Membership Pack:
Paid up members will receive forum access and a membership pack with membership card, window cling, third brake light sticker and a copy of the Club Charter and Terms of Service (in the case of internet members the charter and terms of service may be sent electronically).

Club Funds


Membership fees:
The household membership fee will currently be £12 per annum and membership will be renewable yearly on the month of registration at a cost of £10.
Club funds:
Club funds are built up from membership fees and monies raised at our events. The funds will be spent and used for the benefit of the Club members as the Committee see fit. As we operate principally as a social club, on a non-profit making basis, a good proportion of the funds will be allocated to specific events for the benefit of those attending. All members should be aware of this and all persons joining assume acceptance of this condition. Accounts will be published quarterly in a locked forum that may be read by all but only posted in by the Treasurer.
The accounts will be published on Mar 31st, June 30th, Sept 30th, and Dec 31st annually.

Club Promotion


The Devils Head design and fonts (dark crystal and morpheus) will be the logo for the Club. The colours are Red, Yellow and Black.

 

All Club merchandise must carry the words ‘PT Cruiser Club’ and not just ‘Northern Devils’.

The web address is to be used where possible.
